Vientiane flooding update

The Vientiane Times website has not as yet been updated today.
The information I have is that although the river level has dropped, it is expected to rise again, so the danger to the city remains.
So far four people are reported to have died in two separate flooding-related incidents.
While big efforts have been made to have sandbags in place to protect the city, it remains to be seen how effective these will be, should water levels rise again.
Various groups are organising relief efforts for those affected by the floods. Details of these can be found on the Vientiane Times website:
I understand that Lao American College is also organising a collection of items for donation to flood victims this weekend. Tel: (856-21)900453-5
For more background to the flooding, and how you can respond, please see earlier posts.
We will continue to update this site as as soon as further details emerge.
Please continue to pray about this situation.
